Three Rivers Youth League

5th & 6th Graders

Participation Cost: $75

Must register by Oct. 25th

Saturday, Oct. 26th is Evaluation/Draft Day at CHS from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.

6th Graders please wear RED; 5th Graders please wear BLACK

All Fees must be paid at the Evaluation/Draft Day on Oct. 26th

The Three-Rivers League is made up of teams formed by our local schools. In the past the league has included schools such as: Coshocton, Garaway, Hiland, Ridgewood, Newcomerstown, River View, and West Holmes. 

​

This league plays on Saturdays throughout December and January. Each school hosts one Saturday where 5th grade teams play against each other as do 6th grade teams. All the schools have agreed to consider this a developmental league! This means we do not keep records, nor do we have a tournament. This league is an opportunity for our players to continue to develop their game as they focus on fundamentals and begin to learn strategies and team concepts.

Coshocton’s 5th and 6th grade teams will practice 1-2 times per week for 90 minutes each. Our teams will practice together as often as possible as we want all of our athletes learning the same system of Coshocton Basketball. Again, this league is a developmental league that is all about teaching and the players learning how to use the fundamentals they have learned in game situations. Please do not put an emphasis on winning, but rather on developing and learning!

Registration/Evaluation/ Draft Day: Sat Oct 26, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. at CHS

Practices: Monday, Oct. 28th & Tuesday, Oct. 29th from 530-7pm at CHS

Again, if your son is really enjoying basketball and wants to continue playing a little longer, he can. Once this league is over we will assemble a 5th grade team and a 6th grade team that will play in 4-6 area tournaments in Feb-March. These teams will practice 2-3 times per week leading up to the tournaments. There are additional fees for these tournament teams. Parents will be asked to pay these fees (total fees will be calculated and divided evenly by # of players).

Lil-Dribblers

Kindergarten - 4th Grade ​

Fee: $75 - Must register by November 2, 2024

All fees to be paid on or before Opening Day, November 2nd

You can pay at CHS at 1:30 p.m. on November 2nd

Lil-Dribblers is our introductory program that introduces youngsters to basketball by developing their ball-handling skills. Ball Handling is one of the most vital skills to our overall Basketball program and it can be developed at an early age. 

​

Our Lil-Dribbler program is open to boys in grades K-4th grade. We tier this program by grades where our K & 1st graders do a ball handling routine using a smaller ball. The routine focuses on moving the ball, dribbling, throwing, and catching. Our 2nd and 3rd graders use a regulation size ball and do more complex dribble moves such as between the legs and around the back, advancing their skill set. Our final group is our 4th graders who handle two basketballs at one time. This use of the overload principle greatly enhances these players’ ball handling abilities. The time spent mastering these drills really prepares our players to begin handling the basketball against a defender!

Our Lil-Dribblers have 4 practices and are given a Video with the routine so that they can practice at home. We then perform our routine at halftime of several JV and Varsity games. Each Lil-Dribbler receives:

● Free admission for Lil-Dribbler to the games where they perform 

● We need 5 Parent Helpers

Fee: $300 Per Team of 4 Players

League will play on Mondays & Thursdays 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.

To Teams MUST register together in one individual registration and pay full team fee of $300 at time of registration.

*While this league is designed for Grades 3 & 4, younger athletes may play, but be advised

this has only 1 Division so if 1st or 2nd graders play, they will have to play vs 4th Graders.

This league is a fast paced, fun and competitive 3 v 3 league, teaching basketball fundamentals, game play concepts and focusing on individual player development. This program provides a friendly and safe environment, where children are encouraged and supported to learn, grow & adapt; as well as build social & emotional skills within a competitive and challenging environment.  ​Each Session contains a 20 min Skill session followed by ½ and/or Full Court 3v3 Games and will be played on lowered rims.  Note: Each team will provide their own shirts
